Wellness & Sick Exams

We recommend yearly checkups for your pets. Senior pets should be assessed more regularly (every six months). While vaccinations are a well-known and essential component of preventative care, they are a small part of your yearly consultation. The examination is the most important part of preventative care for your pet!

While everything may seem perfectly normal to the untrained eye, your pet may have underlying discomfort or distress. This is why it is so important to have regular physical examinations. The examination with a veterinarian can help detect abnormalities or conditions that even the most experienced pet owners may have missed. More often than not, your pet will likely show healthy on presentation, but early detection can save your pet’s life in the case they are not.

We’re also proud to offer veterinary acupuncture! Acupuncture is a 3000-year-old Chinese practice utilizing hair-thin needles to stimulate the body’s nerve centers, improving blood circulation and releasing pain-relieving hormones. This virtually painless process relaxes muscle tissue and oxygenates the surrounding area, allowing the body to heal more rapidly. Many disorders can be treated with acupuncture, including:

  • Neurologic and soft tissue pain
  • Arthritis and musculoskeletal problems
  • Allergies and dermatology issues
  • Gastrointestinal issues

In addition to annual checkups, we offer sick pet examinations, emergency examinations, and USDA health certificate examinations.
