About Us
Unfortunately, you won’t find Mickey Mouse here at Disney Pet Hospital, but you will find a quaint hospital and a team with big hearts in Concord, California—where the real magic happens. We have been proudly serving the Concord community since the early 1970s! Disney Pet Hospital was opened by Dr. Bob Disney in 1972 at the current location. He practiced until 1994, when the late Dr. Lawrence Rothe took over the practice. Disney Pet Hospital joined the VetnCare group in 2018.
We are equipped to assist you with routine preventive care for young, healthy pets, early detection and treatment of disease as your pet ages, and complete medical and surgical care as necessary during their lifetime. We can manage your pet’s care here at our facility and solve most ailments in-house, which saves time and, most importantly, potentially your pet’s life.
Our team immerses ourselves in the broader Bay Area community and proudly supports our local Contra Costa Humane Society and Muttville Senior Dog Rescue.

Our team is our greatest asset: our friendly and helpful Client Service Representatives – the advocates for our clients, and our technical team, who are responsible for providing nursing care to our patients – the advocates for your pets. Our highly educated veterinarians use their vast medical knowledge and passion for pets to help everyone who walks through our doors. Our whole team embraces high standards of clinical care, and your furry friends benefit from it.
Our AAHA accreditation means that our hospital has been evaluated on over 900 standards of veterinary excellence. To maintain this accreditation, hospitals undergo a rigorous review by veterinary experts every three years. Your pets are our passion. And keeping them happy and healthy is our #1 priority.

We strive to make every visit as gentle, pain-free, and stress-free as possible for your pets. We are proud that many of our hospital team members are Fear Free Certified®!
